Activision Mixes It Up With DJ Hero At E3 2009

Activision and FreeStyleGames started the DJ Hero fun before E3 2009 even started. The day before E3, Activision threw a secret party at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. It was not much of a secret leading up to the party with Eminem Twittering about the available passes the day of. At the Activision party, Jay-Z and Eminem threw down a few tracks to get everyone excited about the game. Travis Barker and DJ AM even showed up to express their support. During E3, Activision showed off DJ Hero at the Activision stage throughout the show. Jamie Jackson from Freestyle Games continued to demo the game on stage for attendees and behind closed doors. He made mixing look cool and fun even though it was all a video game on a plastic turntable. DJ Hero will include up to 100 tracks. Songs from Beck, No Doubt, Rick James, Foo Fighters, and Beastie Boys will be included. The game will have the ability to play with two other friends pairing up with someone on a guitar and vocals. The game at first looks intimidating like Guitar Hero when it was first introduced. Do not let that fool you. When you get your hands on the turntable and the game, you will not want to let go of it. It is that fun. [Source - Activision]
